Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker featured an appearance from a very important spaceship from 1977's A New Hope: the Tantive IV.
According to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, General Leia Organa retrieved the Tantive IV, which appeared at the beginning of A New Hope, from a "sympathetic former Imperial senator" in the Yama system. The book indicates she reacquired the vessel recently, though exactly when wasn't made clear.
After the Battle of Scarif, plans for the Death Star were beamed aboard the Tantive IV. This led to Darth Vader and his stormtroopers attacking the vessel and taking Leia prisoner in order to figure out what she did with the plans. However, she'd entrusted them to R2-D2, who went to Tatooine in an escape pod alongside C-3PO. According to the book, that escape pod is still missing by the time The Rise of Skywalker rolls around.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is now in theaters.
